Constitution of the Catholic National Commission for Missionary Activity
Objectives
The Objectives of the Commission
To find ways and means of spreading the Good News of the Kingdom of God to all the people of our land.
To enkindle and foster an authentic missionary spirit among our priests, religious and laity.
To promote the work of the Pontifical Mission Societies.
To co-ordinate and help the activities of the Diocesan commissions for Missionary Activity.
To encourage and promote an awareness for the need of an Asian spirituality.
Membership
Membership of the Commission
Two Bishops nominated by the Bishop's Conference as President and Vice-President.
National Director PMS.
Diocesan Directors for Missionary Activity appointed by the Bishops and Diocesan Directors of PMS if these two offices are not held by the same person.
Three /two members appointed by the Bishops of each diocese, either from among the religious or laity, so that total representation from a diocese may not exceed 4 members.
The Chairman may request two representatives from each of the following:-
- Major Superiors' Conference
- Catechetical Commission
- Commission for Social Communications
- Legion of Mary
- Renewal Movement and
- May nominate any others active in the field of direct evangelization.
Two resource persons nominated by the President and Vice President from among those competent in the Work of the Commission.
The Chairman of the Catholic National Commissions to nominate one representative to the Catholic National Commission for Missionary Activity where such commissions are not already represented.
