Our Mission

At the service of the Church’s missionary life

The Pontifical Mission Societies form a worldwide network of prayer and charity supporting missionary activities and Local Churches. In Sri Lanka, the mission is expressed through faith formation of children and youth, support for vocations, missionary solidarity with dioceses parishes socities etc.

The four Societies share one missionary spirit: helping every baptized person participate in evangelization through prayer, sacrifice, formation and material support.

Catholic National Commission for Missionary Activity

The Catholic National Commission for Missionary Activity promotes missionary awareness, coordination and cooperation within the Church in Sri Lanka.

Working together with diocesan missionary structures and the Pontifical Mission Societies, the Commission contributes to missionary formation and the evangelizing mission of the Church.
